Northwest Vacation - 1999

A three week adventure from national parks to brewpubs!

This page will follow the travels and adventures of my vacation from August 28, 1999 to September 16, 1999. Briefly; I traveled with two friends, Art and Jeff all around the Pacific Northwest and Western Rockies area. We landed in Seattle, drove the Northern Cascades Highway to Eastern Washington and turned north to Canada. In Canada we went through B.C. and Alberta to Waterton National Park. We then traveled South to Montana where we spent several days in Glacier National Park and drove to Yellowstone National Park via Missoula and Bozman. After Two nights in Yellowstone's Old Faithful Inn we headed south to the Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole Wyoming. Our trip then took a westward direction through Idaho through the Columbia River Gorge and on to Portland Oregon. From Portland we turned north for our return to Seattle and the trip home. Upon our arrival in Seattle we found our flight was postponed because Hurricane Floyd was bearing down on Miami. Fortunately, it missed but it gave us two bonus vacation days in Seattle where we relaxed and put away the cameras and pens and became locals for a few days. On September 16 we returned to Miami.

The log is one long continuous work but is too long for anyone not on the trip to read at one time. So I have broken it up into areas of interest and you can just check out that area or several areas of interest. We visited more than twenty brewpubs and/or beer tasting rooms on this trip.
